Business Advisory Council

Diversity Employment Source and EmployAbility Partnership has teamed up with Goodwill Industries of Southern California to create the most effective and productive Business Advisory Council in Los Angeles.

Diversity Employment Source and EmployAbility are in the process of developing a subcommittee of Goodwill Industries existing Business Advisory Council (BAC) specifically targeted to serve individuals with disabilities who are clients of the Department of Rehabilitation and the City of Los Angeles Worksource Centers.

The BAC is made up of local business leaders and Goodwill’s vocational training and placement professionals, is an independent advisory council that provides advice and guidance to Goodwill Industries, Diversity Employment Source and Employability regarding employment issues that impact our clientele and programs.

The key objectives of the BAC are:

  • To support the similar missions of Goodwill Industries, Diversity Employment Source & Employability.

  • To ensure that all or our training and placement programs are designed to meet the current needs of the business community.

  • To provide opportunities for community involvement, training, and advisement on issues effecting employers who hire individuals with barriers to employment.

Membership in the BAC provides:

  • Networking — connect with other business professionals.

  • Technical Assistance & Training — Goodwill’s professionals are available to answer questions and provide training on subjects such as the ADA, reasonable accommodation, interview etiquette with disabled persons, work opportunity tax credit assistance, and more.

  • Access to a pool of motivated employment candidates — peruse resumes  and consult with job developers about your staffing needs.

  • Community Involvement supporting the BAC will give you the opportunity to be instrumental in improving the lives individuals with disabilities by helping them become self sufficient, tax paying citizens.
